But if I score below the 35th percentile in math I will not be accepted to Loma Linda. However I want to start grad school asap.

Should I start my program at a different school that does not require the GRE but has similar coursework, while I go back to math basics at a local community college until I acquire the skills required to get a passing score on the math portion of GRE? I expect this to take at least two semesters (a year) before I would theoretically know enough to transfer.

Or should I focus completely on the math only and hold off of grad school until I can pass the test with a score that will get me accepted to Loma Linda?
I am perfectly aware Loma Linda requires GRE scores and it was my intent to transfer there after I had the ability to pass the test with the score they want.

I’m applying for a clinical psychology program, they specify no lower than the 35th percentile in any category. I do not remember any math in high school except geometry which I passed because it was more critical thinking than math, and the algebra-I think I passed because my teacher was new and didnt want to look like he failed to teach us anything. I sure as heck didn’t learn a thing and my math knowledge is abysmal.

I looked at a few practice gre books and I couldn’t answer even a SINGLE math question.

Grad school credits don’t transfer the way undergraduate credits do any likely won’t transfer at all. Graduate school is also about professional networking and transferring isn’t incredibility common and will burn some bridges/career connections at your old school. Even if you do plan on transferring, the new school might still require GRE scores.

How important the quant score is depends on your program, english programs would care less than math ones would.

GRE doesn’t test any college math, it’s all stuff you covered in high school. Get a review book or take a GRE prep class, I’m terrible at math didn’t take a single math class in college and managed a respectable score and got into every graduate school I applied to. The key is to at least break 1000, if you are looking for funding you’ll want to score higher, but it’s scores under 1000 that are really downers.

We use complementary counting: The number of ways to choose 3 items in general is (9,3) = 84. The number of ways to choose only meat is (4,3) = 4. Therefore, there are 84-4 = 80 different dinners she can create.

The answer key says the right answer is (2/3)d². How do you get that?

area = 2x^2
d^2 = x^2 + 4x^2 = 5x^2
area = (2/5) d^2
