Ninja Gaiden and Test Prep: Why Every Test Can Be Gamed.

http://www.TestingIsEasy.com

With Ryu Hayabusa by his side, Mike Barrett explains in depth why every standardized test can be gamed and strategized using that age-old teaching tool, the Wii. Mike discusses how standardized tests fall short of measuring actual intelligence in the same way that Ninja Gaiden falls short of actual Ninjutsu, and why that could save you a whole lot of time and aggravation.

Does anyone else think the GRE test is a drag?

I’ve taken this test twice. Each time wasn’t a high enough percentile to get into the program I wanted to get into. Each time I take it my score either increased on one section or decreases in another.
The school is looking at scores for one test; they don’t mix or match better scores from all the tests.
What is worst is that it’s expensive $140 and graded on comparison.

Does any other student think that this test is a drag? Sorry but I really despise the analogie test section.

Meh…
It’s Lame. Especially the English section.
The Quantitatvie section is too big sometimes. Yeh it’s a drag if ya ask me.

Any tips for preparing for Bio and General GRE?

I am about two weeks away from taking the Biology Subject Test GRE and four weeks away from taking the General GRE. Does anyone who has taken these tests before have any study suggestions? I already have the study materials from Kaplan and have the Princeton Review Cracking the GRE guides on the way. Would it be a wise idea to go back through my notes and texts from my undergrad courses and re-read these? Any and all tips would be GREATLY appreciated!

Take PowerPrep 1 week before actual GRE test date. Try to take as many practice test as possible.

This is what you should do to improve your score.

1) There are lots of free online GRE practice Tests available. Take one of the test without any distractions and see how you score in Verbal and Quantitative.

2) For the questions you have answered wrong, make sure you find out why you selected the wrong answer and find how to solve it right. If you happen to learn a new formula or words, make a note of it. you could use a separate notebook, one for verbal and one for Maths.

3) In same time, spend at least 1 hour per day for GRE Vocabulary from Barron’s GRE book. It has 50 Word Lists. Try to memorize 1 word list per week. So, every week you can read 50 to 100 new words.

4) Week 1 read the first word list, Week 2 revise the first word list and then start learning the Second Word List. So, that you will not forget the words.

5) Best way to remember new words is to form a sentence for each word.

6) Next, take an GRE Practice Test again and see how much you score, and for mistakes you make, again evaluate what went wrong. In this way, you will learn new maths formulas and at same time your score will increase month by month.

7) No need to worry that you are scoring less in GRE tests now, every student initially has the same problem. Spending atleast 1-2 hours per day for first 3 months from now will get you going. In 4-5 months time you will see huge difference in the score.

8) So, the key to improve your GRE Scores and skills is to practice daily and if you select a wrong answer in your practice test, make sure you find the right answer and how to find the right answer.

GRE practice tests/simulations?

Taking the GRE soon, wanted to know if there was an online GRE simulation available. I have a CD with some tests on it, but I cant run it because I have a mac, so I wanted to know if there were any free simulations online. I’ve looked a little on the web, but I could only find practice questions, couldn’t find any full practice tests. I want to make sure that I am accustomed to the format before I take the test! thanks!
