    dude i was a freshman with no teacher none of the substitutes didnt even care what would you have done? obviously you werent in that situation then you would understand and how can you learn the material if the teacher aint there to help you? and the substitutes had no knowledge of the stuff idc if i sound intelligent i am just trying to tell people things like that happen quit being a dick and understand

    I have to say, this advise is all excellent. As a soon to be sophmore in college, I did “meh”, in my freshmen year, the reasons why are all basically explained.

    You NEED to engage in the class outside of class (e.g., the textbook), and you need to be awake and in class, every class.

    Also, I find that when I’m in the front of the class I’m less distracted by people in front of me. When you’re in the back it’s like watching from a distance- you don’t have to be as engaged.

    Pacoslovestacos, please learn how to structure a sentence properly; more people will take you seriously if you sound intelligent. Plus, you failing a class is not 100% the teacher’s fault, if you take the time to learn the material yourself you’ll be better prepared for college.

    I think WWII would be the event that kicked public education in the US on the federal level into overdrive. It started a lot of institutions in our country that, for better or for worse, we have today.

    sir im a 16 yeah old i go to high school and you say some teachers arent their for a paycheck but some are i experienced this first hand i failed two classes because of this they left not even halve year for *personal* things and we had a substitute eatch day and it was horrible i had to retake it for summer school even our principle came in and said sorry they cant fire them because of a contract i say that bs so many kids are going to fail because of that how can we do something?
